Lake perch, is a white-fleshed, flaky and firm textured fish indigenous to fresh waters of the Great Lakes area of North America. It is prized in that region, where it is often used for Fish Fries, gatherings typically held on Fridays where one or more types of battered and fried fish are the primary food item served.
We specialize in European Freshwater Perch, which is closely related to domestic North American Yellow Perch. It’s a relatively small fish which has distinctive yellow skin with pronounced dark striping. Lake perch is packed in 10-20g, 20-40g, and 40-60g sizes, at 100% net weight.
Consider Emerald Perch as an excellent tasting, lower-priced alternative to Lake Perch, or smaller Pike Perch (Zander).
